The (in)famous Sunflowers

Earlier this summer, I planted a packet of "giant Russian sunflowers". I knew they'd be tall, but they have far exceeded my expectations. They tower over my regular sunflowers, and they're so big that townspeople have taken to arguing over their size. (At last measurement, they were over 11 ft. high.)

It's a rainy, foggy day, and they're providing a spot of colour in an otherwise grey day.
