In the summer of 2011, because of the inclement weather, a wonderful but constant stream of visitors, and other concerns, I wasn't been able to do very much painting. To compensate, I decided to take along a small sketchbook wherever I went so that I could record my experiences. The results are some very quick sketches in ink and watercolour wash. None of these took more than a few minutes, and they're strictly to jog my memory. (What comes out on the paper is usually less significant than what my mind is forced to record.) Nonetheless, I personally find them more fresh than my official studio pieces. Somehow, I never seem to be able to translate that energy into the larger pieces. Sigh.
Please note that the images run from the most recent to the oldest.
PLEASE NOTE: The originals of these paintings are not for sale. They are in my sketchbook and are my source material for new work. However, I would be happy to make an inexpensive copy.
